Why we built it

A European answer to legal AI

Most legal AI is powerful — and built somewhere else, on someone else's infrastructure, under someone else's rules. For lawyers handling privileged, regulated, client-confidential work, that is a problem before it is a product.

We started Tero in Aarhus to do it the European way: end-to-end encrypted by default, hosted and processed entirely within the EU, never trained on your data, and answering from trusted Danish and EU legal sources. The result is software a firm's DPO can sign off on — and a colleague your lawyers can actually trust.

Tero is built by a small, partner-led team in Aarhus — people who believe European data sovereignty should be the default, not an upgrade. It's a company, not a side project: a registered Danish entity, building for the long term.
